A Morning in Market Basing
I haven't been back to Get Knitted since the UKnitty group went in November, on the weekend I moved in. But I thought it was high time I should check it out again.
I am doing a stash reduction thingy- where I am trying to find projects for all my stash (mostly odd balls) and that has been working well. But I really wanted to make a proper project like a sweater. However, lack of money means I can't really afford to make the sweater I am dreaming of - Rowan's Pam.
But I did find ggh Relax on sale, and bought some for the Lion Brand Bolero I've been looking at for a while, think it will be perfect for Spring. The colour is a deep bluey teal, and the yarn is so soft! It has 10% alpaca too, which is my favourite fibre.
I also bought some alpaca to make Pirate Mittens for The Boy for Valentines Day. I was originally thinking of the hat, but he needs mittens more than another hat. I just hope that I can get the mittens done in time.
The last thing I bought was some Addis to make the mittens/hat. I've never used them before, though I have experimented with the Magic Loop, so I am really excited about that.
I didn't do much knitting last week - I had a bad cold, and my job wasn't very fun, so when I came home, I didn't feel like socks or my mittens, which are the main things on the needles. I've now cast on for the Bolero, and will spend this afternoon doing some of that, my mittens, and maybe starting The Boy's mittens.
Ooh, last weekend I bought a big platic container to keep all my knitting stuff in. I've just been keeping it in various bags around the apartment, but now it is all together and (sort of) tidy. The next thing I want to do is sew up some simple bags to keep WIPs in, instead of keeping them in plastic bags. I just have to find some nice material, I think I'll have to go to The Mall (where I've never been) to get some.
This amused me.

That is one seriously pornographic pear. LOL
Have fun with the sweater!
That's a pear? Oh my. And I'm about to eat one with my lunch. Thank God it's not shaped like that.
