I've been listening to podcasts more and more, and been really enjoying it. I actually have been thinking of starting my own. But there are a few problems with this.
- I don't have much disposable income at the moment and if I do it, I would want to do it properly.
- Recently I have been getting stressed about the few things I have to do, adding something else onto the list probably wouldn't be a good idea. I know it would require a lot of time.
- I am worried that I would be REALLY boring or crap or stupid or something.
Then I realised, this blog is pretty half-hearted. I read some really good blogs, and mine is nothing like them! I think I should spend some more time on this blog, making it better, more regular posts, and interesting things. So this weekend I might work on that.
Last weekend we had a knitwear disaster. We caught a taxi home (which we never do) after meeting friends for a few drinks. I left my mitten and The Boy left his cabled hat in the back of the cab. And yes, I was just wearing one mitten, I hadn't finsihed the other yet, okay? So I knit The Boy a new hat, which is still pretty essential.
I started using yarn left over from my first ever real project, a hat for The Boy, way back in late 2004. It is an alpaca blend, but I can't find the label at the moment. But then I realised I wouldn't have enough to finsih the hat, so I used some 100% wool that I had left over from when I made a Cabana Boy for Yorkie, in SP3. The colours actually go really well with his coat.
I have made a few knitting purchases recently. I went to the Get Knitted open Day and bought some Noro Kureyon, and some Opal yarn.
The Noro is to make the
Booga Bag. I'm quite excited because I've never used Kureyon and have wanted to make the Booga Bag for ages. I'm amking it for The Boy's sister who is turning 21 in April.
The Opal is from the rainforest range that I drooled over before. I got the tiger yarn to make socks for The Boy. I also bought sock-sized Addis so that I can use magic loop to amke socks, and hopefully finally complete a pair!
The last thing I bought was a crochet hook because I ordered the Debbie Stoller's new book
The Happy Hooker. I've been trying to do some stitches and it's quite fun. I really like some of the patterns in the book too, especially the bags!
